The
Engine is a tuned version of the 1500 cc Ford Classic unit
ensuring trouble free servicing and maintenance. Breathing and carburetor
are improved by the fitting of an accurately profiled shaft, smoothed
inlet ports, four branch exhaust manifold and two superb twin choke
Webbed carburetors. The net powered output is 85 b.h.p available over
a large rev.range and coupled to an excellent torque figure. In arriving
at the engine specification, reliability, petrol consumption and smoothness
were not to suffer at the expense of performance. This difficulty compromise
has beenbrilliantly met.
The
chassis frame is immensely strong and is constructed around
backbone of 31/2 in. tubes spaced 1 ft. apart run the length of the
car. These members are cross braced by six further 3 1/2 in. tubes giving
great torsion stiffness. Four 3.5 in. tubular outriggers on each side
join to 3 1/2 in. by 14g. channel side members on which are the main
body attachment points. Smaller diameter tube space frame sub-assemblies
front and rear carry the upper front wishbones and front suspension
units, together with engine mountings and rear suspension units and
boot boot floor respectively. The independent front Suspension is of
the wishbone type with unequal length inclined arms giving a controlled
degree of negative camper on bump movement.

THE
SHAPE of the body work speaks for itself, but the beautifull
lines are also extremely functional, having a low and small frontall
area and being areodynamically efficient, thus allowing maximum performance
for minium effort and ensuring the quietest wind noise at speed. The
body is built on the well-tried Tornado principle of unitary, reinforced
plastic construction.
