I have run the Tornado Register since 1978. The register is an unofficial way of keeping a record of as many surviving Tornado's as possible. The Tornado Register also attempts to keep a record of owners, both past and present. Records are also kept of cars and spares currently for sale. Our register is not a club, for with only a small number of surviving cars any club for these enthusiasts and their cars could only be a 'paper' or 'virtual' club. The Fairthorpe Sports Car Club has catered for Tornado owners and enthusiasts since 1976. This club also caters for many of the less well-known sports car manufacturers based in the UK in the 1950's and 60's. Other manufacturers with registers within the FSCC are Fairthorpe, Turner, Rochdale, Falcon, and Ashley. The club also has a very successful Historic Specials Register and hosts the annual Historic Specials Day each August at the Cotswold Wildlife Park, Burford, Oxfordshire. As
the clubs Tornado Registrar I attend club committee meeting on behalf
of Tornado enthusiasts and I write about 'Tornado Topics' in each monthly
edition of the clubs lively and informative newsletter. Most owners of
Tornado's belong to the Fairthorpe Sports Car Club and I advise you to
join if you want to get the most out of owning or having an interest in
Tornado Cars.
